Before launch

When can I use it?

TarsiLabs opens in November 2026. Join the waitlist and we email you that day. Until then, the examples are real results you can take apart and download.

What does the waitlist give me?

One email the day it opens, and 30% off Creator in the first 14 days after we open (that email gives the exact last day; pricing has the numbers). At most a few emails before that, and every one has a link to leave the list.

Are the prices final?

They are the prices at launch: previews free, your first 3 pictures on us, then unlimited pictures with a 7-day pass or Creator. See pricing.

Can I tell you what I need?

Please do. Send us a note: what is missing, what you would change in an example file, which format you need. We read every note before launch.

Pictures and files

Which files can I upload?

PNG, JPG and WebP, up to 10 MB, on every plan. Big pictures are scaled down for you first.

What kind of pictures work best?

Illustrations, logos, icons, stickers, cartoons, flat artwork and AI-generated art: pictures with clear shapes and a limited set of colours.

Can I convert photos?

Photos can be converted, but they are not what TarsiLabs is made for: a photo holds thousands of soft tones, so its SVG is large and hard to edit. Drawn pictures work best.

What do I get back?

One standard SVG file with clean, layered shapes in the colours of your picture. It scales to any size without going soft or blocky.

What do I download?

A layered SVG. By default it is grouped by object: each thing in the picture is one group, with a whole base, its parts on top and its own line art. In the download options you can group it by colour instead (one group per colour), or get cut-outs for vinyl and Cricut (every shape exactly its own area) and cut-outs with a trap for screen printing. You can also leave the background out and set a print size (a shirt, a sticker, A4 or A3). It opens in Illustrator, Figma and Inkscape with its groups. You can also download it as a PNG or a PDF: a picture you keep downloads as often as you want, in any of them. DXF for cutting machines comes after we have tested it on a cutter.

Does it keep transparency?

Yes. Transparent areas stay transparent and no background is added.

My picture is small or blurry. Will it work?

Often, yes: try it, the preview is free. If a picture you kept is clearly wrong, tell us: it does not count as a picture kept.

Layers and editing

How are the layers organised?

By object. Each thing in the picture is one group: a whole base shape at the bottom, its smaller shapes on top, and its line art as a group of its own. Hide, move or delete a thing or one of its parts, and the rest stays as it was.

Does it open in Illustrator, Figma or Inkscape?

Yes, and first of all right here in TarsiCanvas, our browser editor, with nothing to install. The SVG opens in Adobe Illustrator, Figma and Inkscape with its groups and colours. It is a standard SVG, so other apps that import SVG (Affinity, Canva, Cricut Design Space) can open it too; how they show the groups is up to them.

Can I edit the result before I download it?

Yes: open the layers, hide, move, delete or recolour parts and compare with your original, then download the file as you left it. Try it on the coffee sticker on the home page.

Is the editor free?

Editing a picture you converted comes with it: once you keep it, edit it and download it again as often as you like, at no extra cost. Drawing your own vectors is coming later, and it will be free with an account: drawing and downloading your own drawings costs nothing and needs no plan. Only the pictures you convert and keep count. More on the editor page.

Can I change a colour everywhere at once?

Yes. The result uses a short palette taken from your picture; change one colour and every shape that uses it follows.

Can I use it for cutting machines and print?

Yes, the shapes are closed paths a cutter can follow. Check the result before you cut or print: it is made automatically and can contain mistakes.

Privacy and ownership

Are my pictures private?

Only you can see them. We never show them to anyone and never use them to train anything. We look at one only if you ask us to, or to check it for abuse.

How long do you keep my pictures?

Your uploaded picture is deleted after 24 hours on every plan. A result you don’t unlock is deleted after 7 days; one you unlock stays in your account until you delete it. The privacy policy has the details.

Who owns the result?

You do. Use it for anything you have the rights to use the original picture for.

Account, pictures and payment

Do I need an account?

Yes, to convert. Sign in with your email (we send you a link, no password) or with Google. The samples on the home page work without one.

What do I pay for?

Keeping pictures after your first 3. Converting a picture and its preview are free, and a failed picture never counts. A 7-day pass or Creator lets you keep as many as your own work needs, under fair use; a picture you keep downloads as often as you want, as SVG, PNG or PDF. Without a pass or plan you can preview up to 10 pictures a day (5 on your first day). The prices are on the pricing page.

What do I get for free?

Every picture gets a free preview once you sign in, and a new account’s first 3 pictures are on us. They come once and do not renew.

How does the 7-day pass work?

One payment gives you unlimited pictures for 7 days from when you buy it, under fair use. It never renews. Buy another while one runs and it adds 7 days to the end.

What does fair use mean?

The pass and Creator have no picture count: they are for one person’s own work. Fair use only stops floods and shared accounts: at most 100 new pictures in any 5 hours and 1,000 in any 7 days, one at a time. Downloading a picture again, in another format or layout, and editing it never count. Reach a limit and the app tells you when you can start new pictures again; everything you have keeps working. No account sharing and no automated use.

Who handles payment?

Paddle, our merchant of record: it runs the checkout, adds the tax for your country and sends your invoice. See pricing.

What if a result isn’t good?

If a picture you kept is clearly wrong, tell us: it does not count as a picture kept. Within 14 days of a purchase you can also ask for your money back, if you haven’t kept a picture with it yet, through Paddle at paddle.net or from us (refund policy).
